For the week of 5/26:

Read for 20 minutes. 

Use Epic! or Raz-Kids to access more books.


Research a vacation spot! Write at least 5 complete sentences about your place. Be sure your sentences have capital letters, punctuation, and the words are spelled correctly. Be creative and add a picture! Be sure to share it with us!




For the week of 5/18:

Read for 20 minutes. 

  • Time for Kids - go to https://time.com/tfk-free/ to create a FREE account. Choose a nonfiction article and go on a scavenger hunt to see how many text features you can find: bold text, captions, labels, headings, maps, graphs/ charts. 

  • There is a text features activities in Google Classroom for you to work on. Be sure to “turn in” when finished, please!

For week of 5/11:

Read for 20 minutes.
Time for Kids - go to https://time.com/tfk-free/ to create a FREE account. Read any nonfiction article and email us about what you read! Mrs. Hankinson’s favorite article was on creating beef in a lab, making cheeseburgers a science project!  Mrs. Klein enjoyed reading about what kids around the country are doing this different time of learning and being at home.

Read for 20 minutes. 

Identify the setting and characters in the stories you are reading. Complete IXL R on setting and characters.

Use Epic! or Raz-Kids to access more books. Spelling: soft and hard c and g sounds - IXL L1-L4 Writing: abbreviations - IXL AAA 1-2

For week of 4/6:

Read for 20 minutes. 

Retell to an adult, making sure to include beginning, middle, and end. 

Think about story elements:

  • Who is in the story?

  • Where does the story take place?

  • What is the problem in the story?

  • What is the solution to the problem?

  • Spelling: IXL J1, J2, J3, J4 (diphthongs - ou, ow, oi, oy)

Writing: watch this story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A972D0ZgM3c and then write your own “How to Catch the Easter Bunny” story.  We would love to see it or read it. You could start a new google doc and share it with your teacher (by our email) when you are done.
